Degree of correspondence between the qualities promoted in Spanish schools and those valued by families according to their educational level

Abstract

This study analyses the degree of correspondence between the qualities the Spanish school system requires and those that parents consider important to convey to their children. We carried out a descriptive analysis of the qualities featured in educational reforms from the LGE to the LOMLOE, comparing their outcomes with data from the World Values Survey (WVS). Families with medium and high educational levels are more in tune with schooling's requirements, although those with lower levels tend to adapt over time.

Este trabajo analiza el nivel de correspondencia entre las cualidades que el sistema escolar español exige y las que los padres consideran importantes transmitir a sus hijos. Realizamos un análisis descriptivo de las cualidades presentes en las reformas educativas desde la LGE a la LOMLOE, cuyos resultados comparamos con los datos de la Encuesta Mundial de Valores (EMV). Encontramos que las familias de niveles educativos medios y altos son las que mejor se acomodan a las exigencias escolares, aunque las de niveles bajos tienden a adaptarse con el tiempo.
